Whitney Dula IBCLC, PMH-C, CPST (and yes, Dula is her legal last name...) is becoming a sought after presenter in her own right. Promoting Lactation Equity in Research and Practice
This presentation addresses the impact of having or not having representational members on the principal research teams of the populations or groups they aim to study. Similarly, we explore the improved outcomes of programs that center the group they aim to help/ study and the effects of cultural congruency in care settings.
Babywearing and Lactation
This presentation gives a high level overview of the multicultural traditions of baby wearing, and how the practice can support or improve breast/ chestfeeding outcomes.
Infant and Toddler Feeding Series
Infant Feeding and the Caregiver explores the basics of feeding children under the age of one. Topics include feeding tools, methods, developmemtal timelines, and supporting parents.
Creating Happy Habits delves into the differences between infant and toddler nutrition, tips for picky eaters, and the role of human milk past age one.
Teethers, Cruisers, Walkers and Talkers
This highly comprehensive presentation looks at the connection between lactation and infant and child development, focusing on the older infant, rather than the newborn. We explore common issues seen in different developmental periods, and apply techniques to help overcome them. It also addresses selected maternal issues as it relates to dyad interactions.
